My name is Sue Green and I would like to adopt the Abbey Museum.

Tell us a bit more about yourself

I am a retired school administrator and have recently returned to live near Caboolture, north of Brisbane in Queensland, after many years living abroad.

Tell us a bit more about your adopted museum

I found The Abbey Museum near Caboolture extremely informative, obviously well researched and well laid out. It is a wonderful resource for getting children interested in ancient history etc, as well as being of interest to people of all ages. It is within the grounds of the Abbey and adjacent to the lovely little St Michael’s church (and to St Michael’s School). There is a modest entry fee – I believe that is open all year round.

Why have you chosen to adopt this museum?

I found it quite absorbing – it would seem to be shockingly under-visited despite being fantastic. It is definitely worth seeking out on Old Toorbul Rd, on the Bribie Island road.

Why would you recommend people visit?

It’s good for all ages, is great value for money and makes the subject readily accessible.

How would you sum up your museum in three words?

Worth the drive!
